Comprehensive Mediation Services

Proudly Serving the Palm Beach & Surrounding Counties of Florida

At the Christopher C. Copeland PA law firm, attorney Christopher C. Copeland is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator with a well-deserved reputation of excellence in assisting parties to reach smart, sensible and effective resolutions to legal and business disputes. Mr. Copeland’s over 20 years of legal experience in representing individuals, corporations and in particular employers and employees in all ranges of disputes provides him with a unique ability to see and relate to all sides of any dispute with competence and understanding.

We understand that mediation is a process whereby through our services we strive to encourage and facilitate the resolution of a dispute without prescribing what it should be. We conduct our mediation sessions in an informal and non-adversarial manner so as to best help disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. As your mediator, we will seek to reduce obstacles to communication, assist in the identification of issues and exploration of alternatives, and otherwise facilitate voluntary agreements resolving the dispute.

In the event the mediation conference is to be changed or canceled, please notify our law office four business days prior to the mediation conference to avoid imposition of a two-hour cancellation fee.

If the mediation conference is rescheduled, and actually held, within 30 days of the date of cancellation, the cancellation fee will be applied to the two-hour minimum fee.

Mediation Fees

We charge a fee of $375 per hour for the mediation conference and preparation time, with a minimum time period of two hours.

An initial mediation deposit in the amount of $750, one-half to be paid by plaintiff and one-half to be paid by defendant, is due on or before the deadline date provided in the engagement letter.

The deposit is applied to the two-hour minimum mediation fee. In addition, all parties are advised to bring with them to mediation a check, in blank, for any charges incurred above the deposit should the mediation exceed two hours.

Checks are to be made payable to CHRISTOPHER C. COPELAND P.A. It is the responsibility of each lawyer to make prior financial or escrow arrangements with their clients to pay the mediation fee and participation in mediation is counsel’s agreement to be financially obligated to pay the mediation fee.

In the event the initial mediation deposit is not received from each party, on or before the deadline date as set forth in the engagement letter, the mediation conference may be canceled by the mediator and rescheduled at such time as the deposit is received from both parties.
